Good day. My name is Sandalphon, and I manage Cafe Azure.

With Valentine's Day approaching, I would like to devise a menu for the occasion. Since our realms differ greatly, what flavors and motifs are common to the holiday where you come from?

I'm familiar with chocolate and anatomically inaccurate hearts.

Also, do any local businesses offer free refreshments to new arrivals? It has occurred to me that this may help them acclimate.

Chocolate is the main centerpiece to most Valentine's treats where I'm from, so that seems to be the same!
I have a friend who also has a cafe and he specializes in coffee and curry. Perhaps I can ask him if he's going to offer freebies?

I see, so it's customary beyond the Sky Realm. I've made chocolate cake with coffee, though I haven't attempted a beverage.

If it would be no trouble, I would like to know. I'd like to provide free coffee to new arrivals, but I'm unsure how I'd notify them of it. I thought others might know.

Oh, I've never had a chocolate cake made with coffee before!
Did you infuse it into the batter somehow? I confess I'm not much of a baker, so I wouldn't know where to begin with that. What sort of beans did you use?

There is some in the batter to a lesser degree, but more was infused into a glaze. I'm not a very skilled baker myself, but someone from my realm asked for my assistance with the recipe and later taught me.

The beans themselves are from primordial coffee plants I cultivate myself.

Oh yes, I can see how that would have been better... my understanding of baking is that even the slightest change to the recipe can dramatically influence how it turns out, so a glaze would be much safer.

What are primordial coffee plants? I'm not familiar with that variety, though at home I imported quite a variety if I do say so myself.

He told me something to this effect as well. His knowledge and skill far exceed my own, save in the realm of coffee, so I learned a great deal from even that collaboration.

Primordial coffee was the first species introduced in the Sky Realm, over two thousand years ago. I harvested beans from that first tree before I was brought here, so I've been raising more plants.

This environment agrees with them, thus far.

And in that case, I will ensure there are a variety of options which don't include chocolate. It wouldn't be a very festive occasion if people became ill.

in any case, regarding chocolates... i think i reckon of some unique mixes that not a lot of people tasted back there... i don't think normal people would like it though

I've only recently gotten around to talking all that much, myself. Besides, the crew is enormous.

That's good to hear.

Chocolate was common where I come from, although I prepared coffee and cookies for someone, myself. If there's variety, it should allow everyone a choice.

Yes, the Sky Realm is the world from which I hail. Where most others seem to come from realms with vast expanses of land and sea, ours is one where islands litter the sky.

It sounds to me like you're a connoisseur of coffee, to have sampled such variety.

Goodness, that sounds remarkable! Just like something out of a storybook. I can scarcely imagine it.

That sounds like it could be very frightening to live on. Do people ever fall off the edge?

And I certainly try to be! I've always dreamed of opening my own cafe back home, so learning to appreciate the subtle flavors and differences in various strains and blends of coffee was something of a hobby of mine.
