I don't think I've ever used a forum this big before, but I have something I'd like to ask, so here I go!
Is there anyone here who likes to work out?
Usually I get up early to get my exercise in, but I haven't really settled on a routine I'm satisfied with yet.
Going for a run in an unfamiliar place is fun, but it's also a little lonely lol
So I was thinking about putting together a circuit around the groves or the beach!
It'll be mostly endurance rather than strength training, I build muscle quickly and if I go back home with too much I'll get scolded...
Ah, right! And one more thing! I was taking a look at this place
[ insert a link to a dance studio in prismaplace! it looks glitzy and luxurious, with cutting edge tech to mimic various entertainment environments and conditions. thunderous 360° areas with all the bells and whistles, rainy outdoor lives, dive bars, bougie theaters - you name it, it's there. ]
Isn't it cool? I've just been practicing in the park lately, but with TRIGGER's activities picking up, I want to get serious about it.
Is there anyone else interested? It's such a big space that I thought it'd be fun to have more people go! I have sets I'd like to practice, but you'd be welcome to do whatever you'd like, of course. Or I can put together new choreography!
I can bring snacks and drinks, too.
[ ryuu's tireless den mom energy is showing, and he's okay with that. ]
Let me know what you think, if you'd like to try it out!
Thank you very much.

[ and a kinako sticker he rescued from his normal phone for luck! ]

[ just the bit of video time paints him as pretty expressive himself - but he's used to the camera too. ]
Both! If you don't mind answering? I never considered the differences before now, so I'm curious.
And I don't mind it much. I'm in entertainment back home, so I want to be able to pick up where I left off without too much hassle, you know?
It's its own challenge, in a way!
[ though he's already big by his industry's standards regardless. ]

[ She's from 2009. At least she doesn't think it's a fad or is resistant to change. ]
Mostly, weights. I can deadlift give or take eight, nine hundred pounds. I focus primarily on my legs since it suits my fighting style. Big fan of leg machines. :)
I primarily derive my fighting style from Muay Thai, Savate, and Wing Chun but I tend to either do 1:1 training with another person or pulverize muk yan jong.
Muk yan jong are usually wooden or steel posts that move with you. It's hard to explain without showing. A training dummy, but it's not in the shape of a human or meant to just be hit.
That makes sense. I guess it didn't occur to me that there would be people like that here.
I don't mean to judge or anything like that, I suppose I can't understand that kind of lifestyle from my own perspective.
But if you're down for a little indulgence, feel free to consider me if you want a partner in crime. ;)

So the offer goes both ways if you want to get used to texting or video chatting more! If that doesn't sound silly.
[ he's a social butterfly and would live in people's inboxes if he could! ]
But 900lbs?! That's incredible. I mean it. I'm in good shape but I mostly use it for dancing or outdoor sports, like swimming in the ocean or bouldering!
Any fighting I've done has only been for television, so...I feel similar.
It's not a bad thing, just different.
[ literally I CAN DO THAT
...on TV. ]
I kind of like the sound of a partner in crime though, haha
Learning something new while I'm away can't hurt, right? It'd probably be insulting of me to ask you to go easy on me when you could totally throw me, I bet.
But if you're sure you're okay with a newbie, I'd take you up on it!

[ She is... very much not that. She loves the company of people she's close to, but she's pretty much the sort that doesn't open up too often let alone to people she's not terribly close to. ]
I mean, that's just with effort in dead lifting. I can do more depending on the day. My partner's definitely stronger, though.
I don't see anything wrong with not being in shape or using it for what you want. :)
Wait, so you're a celebrity?
Ha, sorry if I've offended you. I don't keep up much on that sort of thing.
Glad to be of service in that case!
"Going easy" is one way to learn, though. I think it's just as beneficial as going hard & fast.
Absolutely. Otherwise I don't mind a run.
Jill, by the way!

And not at all! I wasn't offended.
You could say I'm a celebrity back home, but it still feels weird to lean on that when I meet someone for the first time, knowing not everyone here comes from the same Earth, even.
[ if they even come from earth at all... wild. ]
But it's been nice interacting with people without that pretense too.
I miss it and still think that, from time to time.
So if you'd like, we can start with going on runs! I've been favoring the beach because of the sand.
Plus I'm curious if there's a training or fighting style that would suit me, now.
no subject
Ha, could mean something pretty different somewhere else.
But considering, it sounds we might be from somewhere similar.
Since you've mentioned earth and your name, would you happen to be Japanese?
I'm of Nikkeijin descent, though you wouldn't know it by my appearance. My grandmother was Japanese.
[ Not exactly something you'd think about back home. Or, that she would anyway. ]
Kind of laid back considering the things people talk about on this.
I'm down for it whenever you're available. My schedule's not exactly full like it is back home.
Hm, well, we'll see. Though I derive from Savate it's actually suited to many different kinds of people with different body types and strengths.
I mostly steal kick techniques. :)

But you got it! I'm Okinawan. I've lived in Tokyo for the past four years for work, though.
That's partly why I think of my image a lot. I already look a bit different compared to my peers.
[ and Standing Out is its own headache, sometimes. ]
I'll aim for early mornings! Dawn, or just before. I've done lots of different entertainment, but my main job is being an idol as part of a group, and we're looking to pick that back up, so I'd like to get my exercise in before rehearsals and dance practice.
That's encouraging to hear that it can be so diverse!
You use your legs a lot?
no subject
I've been in Africa for the past few years, but I'm American.
Isn't that sort of the appeal in celebrities?
If you look different that means you have something they can't have. People can learn new skills or develop new interests, but what they look like can only be changed so much.
[ Harder to blend in a crowd, though, she imagines. It's probably daunting sometimes to be in his field of work. At least she doesn't have to worry about autographs. ]
Perfect. I don't sleep too much and that's ideal.
Wait, so you're a musician? Or singer? Is that what you're saying?
Definitely helpful in that case. Of course, and with some of the things that seem to go on here.
Don't most people who have them?
no subject
Africa, huh? What brought you there?
And it is, in a way! I can't complain that people like my face lol
But even compared to my other group members and the people I work with, being tall and weighing a lot aren't very common. I try to be mindful of it.
[ though it's true he can't even go to the supermarket, so getting to just shoot the shit like this with people who have no idea who he is has its own appeal. ]
A singer! But also a dancer. I learned that idols in Japan are more all-rounders than people who strictly call themselves musicians elsewhere!
My main job is singing and dancing, but I get a lot of other adjacent work too.
Modeling, television shows, commercials, things like that.
...are you teasing me?
[ no you oaf you just worded that dumb. ]
no subject
Work. I'm a special operations agent with an anti-bioterrorism NGO.
Just because you're in the entertainment business doesn't mean that it can't be uncomfortable sometimes, does it?
If that's what you want, I can't argue with it. Personally I tend to lean toward people who can handle a body slam or ten.
[ Her job, to some degree, can involve blending in. Not always easy when you have unique facial features like she has. And, you know, thighs that can crush a skull. ]
I mean the Americas and the UK do have some like that, but I think it stopped being common in the 70s or 80s.
I've gotta confess that I'm not exactly the most up-to-date with pop culture.
Must be as taxing as what I do. In its own way.
Maybe. :)
[ It's both, naturally. ]
no subject
Anti-bioterrorism? What was happening? ...If you can't tell me, I understand! It sounds like sensitive work.
It's true that the visibility can be a lot. I'm actually pretty shy, when my image is supposed to be wild...
But at the end of the day, I can't imagine doing anything else.
Even if I could never handle ten bodyslams! Maybe one?!
[ it is a mystery, and one he's almost maybe a little curious to find out about, when he probably shouldn't be. ]
That makes sense. Singing and dancing are what I love to do, but having a wide body of work keeps things interesting.
Some of the work gets embarrassing, but the end result is usually worth it!
Maybe there's things each of us could learn by meeting up.
And come on! Okay, let me try again.
Is it what your fighting style leans on?
no subject
I tend to combat the physical the threats, but I also investigate situations and gauge what is going on. I tend to be more direct in my actions versus espionage although I'm capable of it.
To clarify, since I've had to before and it doesn't usually occur to me, in my world it's not weaponized viruses like in a sense of making people ill so much as intending to mutate them or setting out mutated creatures to attack an area, a building, or specific people.
Sometimes it's just to show what they're capable of, other times it runs deeper like a way to turn the tide in a civil war.
(It's a lot of information, so I think that's well enough in terms of information unless it's something you're deeply invested in, ha ha!)
Got the short stick there, huh?
Though it's interesting to know how different you are than your... "public persona," I guess?
If you ask nicely you might find yourself on the receiving end, by the way. :)
[ No kinkshaming, here. ]
I take it you don't have a ton of say in what you do?
Especially in a group, I imagine it probably gets voted on...
Hey, I'm always happy to listen and learn. Never know what you might be able to use.
Okay, okay, I'll cut you some slack.
Primarily, I fight with kicks. The majority of my strength is in my legs and thighs.
no subject
As much as someone like me can, anyway. Where I come from has such ordinary everyday things going on that even half of what you do for a living seems incredible, you know?
Not the terrible things you've seen, but the things you're capable of.
Does that sound right?
[ he gets that it might fall a little flat to praise such work when he's about as squishy and noncombatant as it gets, but, you know. he thinks it's deserving. ]
Having a really honed fighting style makes a lot of sense, now.
So maybe I will ask nicely, one day!
[ DENSE OR UNABLE TO BE SHAMED? ]
What our group did was mostly overseen by our agency and manager. That included our image!
Recently, we've gone indie, so we have a bit more freedom to choose what we want.
At first it was jarring to have to act in a way I didn't feel like suited me at all for the sake of entertainment...
But I felt like both sides had their place in what I love to do, so...
Here I am.
no subject
All we can do is prevent and combat s well as we can now.
It's not the most common job where I'm from and the world isn't in utter disrepair or turmoil. I fight in hopes of others not having to, so they can live normal lives.
Ha, yeah, I'd say it's about right, though.
[ She's awkward with praise and always has been to a point of avoiding talking about things she's done or staying quiet about skills. It feels easier when it's "matter of fact" in a sense, but she doesn't like attention drawn to her. ]
Hey, might've just been a wrestler!
I'll be waiting, though.
[ FAIR. ]
That's still gotta be stressful if they're telling you what people want from you. Why not "sell" who you already are? Wouldn't that be easier?
Oh. Hm.
So would you consider yourself more an actor than a singer/musician in that case?
Yeah, well. Name a time and place.
no subject
But it's thanks to people like you that others can carry on like normal.
Thank you for telling me! It's worth like that that's worth admiring, even if just a little.
[ he's a praise locomotive with relatively faulty brakes - ]
No way!
This might be totally off base but
You seem way too honest to be a wrestler. They act too, you know!
[ sometimes more than he does! ]
It's because my background wouldn't make a good selling point. I'm from the countryside. My dad's a fisherman...I got into this line of work to keep my family out of debt. But my agency thought that kind of story would harm the group's success, if the attention was just out of pity. So I took up a "cool" and "sexy" image instead.
Which I felt was totally impossible at the time lol
I had a thick accent! And no fashion sense.
It used to bother me, but I've gotten comfortable with the two sides I have. I joined for money, but I ended up realizing there's nothing else I'd rather do than sing for a living.
So even though it's just an image, it's ended up a part of me that I'm proud to show to people too.
Where do you usually practice?
