I was wondering...if anyone would like to play a game! After everything that's happened I thought maybe something fun would be good to take people's minds off of things.

It's called word association and you basically start off saying a word and then the other person has to think of another word they associate with it! It's really fun, and I think everyone could learn a bit more about each other playing it. Feel free to play with each other too. I. I just want everyone to enjoy themselves. So I'll start with the word: white! Now you have to think of a word that you associate with it.

But! That's not what I...really wanted to talk about. I. I also wanted to ask if anyone would be interested in learning sign language. I know we can all understand each other inherently here, which is amazing, isn't it? People can understand speech and writing but I'm not sure I've met many people who know sign language off the bat. I...think that learning a new language might be fun for some people, right?

[ Maaaybe?! He's so bad at this. Maybe this wasn't a good idea?! He doesn't even know. He's awkward so please don't rag on him too bad!! He's so not good with addressing entire networks of people and offering to teach people stuff. ]

Anyway. If you have any questions, or would even like to offer up your own language to teach or learn...please don't hesitate to speak with me! It could be like an exchange of sorts! I learned a sign language in a place I lived before. I think it would be helpful for those of us who can’t speak, or hear.

I wonder if Lunatia has a native sign language for us.

I would be happy to assist in any way you may need, and it's been a pleasure to brush up on it again with you.

[ Shigeru isn't really unfamiliar with people not knowing about sign language. It's not widely used or needed back home, so he's just gotten used to it. So no worried, Noiz!! ]

It's a language that isn't spoken or written but used with various hand signs. It's extremely helpful for people who are deaf or mute!

It doesn't matter if you're bad at it or not!

I wanted to get people's minds off of...what happened in that poor town, Sylvel. I'm sure it was hard for...people to see it, so even if you don't think you're the best we can still play! [ Shigeru just wants to take people's minds off of it, honestly. ]

Oh you're right, it would! I. I'm not the best teacher either, so I guess we have that in common. But I'm more than willing to teach someone who is willing to learn!

So don't sell yourself so short! learning sign language is different than learning other languages or even most things. I think you'll do just fine!

I wonder about that as well. This place has a lot of similar, but different, things from other worlds. So maybe sign language might be one of them too? I haven't been able to really find anything on it though.

I would really like that! I think having people who can translate would make the process easier to learn. [ It would be a good way for people to see it translated in real time too. ]

I see. I had no idea that sort of thing existed. I figured they'd just use text.

Oh! Well. I do and I'm sure others do as well. But it gets kind of...hard after awhile, and it's a bit...inconvenient at times. Especially here when things get a bit strange because of the moons.

And it's difficult, like all other languages, but it's also...different from them, I guess? It's more about memorization than anything.

Well it's not like other languages. Most of the signs mean entire words, usually. There are letters though, but it's not like you need to sign individual letters to form words. There's also no direct grammar either. So honestly I think you'll be fine!

Aren't hand signs also inconvenient? So few people know them besides universal shit that everyone uses.

Sign language. I believe someone told me that it is a language involving creating sequences of signs with one's hand, correct?

We have a somewhat similar language on my world, but it's tactile, not visual.

Amphoria Pods...that's those VR gaming simulators they gave us not too long ago, right? I haven't used them for awhile but those could definitely help!

I’ve always had trouble with my voice. I can’t speak very loudly, even now. But being mute was an outside influence.

Sometimes I feel a lot of pressure to say something, though. If more people can use sign language, it’ll be easier.

I'm sure it would, yes; you could play a game just like this to help people learn, too. Some of it is straightforward. It'd be like charades, don't you think?
