[When Hijikata woke up on the 1st of the month he had a familiar simple pair of horns on his head. He still clung to the hope that he might just get different dragon traits this time around, but his pissy mood, the red moon that night, and his transformed ears and added tail the next morning made it clear that he got cattle traits again. It feels like a huge downgrade, and he's frustrated. But if there's a hidden logic behind this he wants to find out.]
Does anyone know what conditions need to be met for someone to get permanently exalted?
Has anyone been exalted and then gone back to unexalted? What did you do differently in the month before each change?
[He's keeping his post really curt since he's disgruntled. He could easily think of something he did differently in the past two months, but he needs to compare his experiences to those of others.]

By the way, what's your moonblessing? Does it give you any trouble?
[Riou seems so relaxed and well-adjusted... since he had no visible animal traits on the day of the rap battle Hijikata suspects that he's not a Sanguis, though there seem to be some people who only get hit with the hormonal/emotional afflictions.]

I'm glad it's not messing up your life too much. If you end up with wings again during a triple moon phase and I do too maybe we can fly around together.
[Wow, what a suggestion... but he likes Riou and would be happy to see him again one of these days; he's just not that great at coming up with ideas for an outing.]

[ really riou will show up for anything but he doesn't really think his wings work.. he hasn't checked that his bones were hollow in his wings, but they definitely didn't feel heavy and at the size they were he's pretty sure they would've had to be.. ]

[Now he's wondering. He didn't get around to trying his wings out, but he knows that some Moonblessed have managed to fly with theirs. Is it just the bird-based ones? Do all their bones hollow out for the duration of the moon phase? Reptiles don't have hollow bones, right? What about the insect-based moonblessings? Insects don't have internal bones at all to his best knowledge... much to think about.]

[It's a shoddy excuse for his sloppy reading, but the trees with their bright blue and pink leaves really are distracting. He bought them at the farmer's market, and now he's trying to figure out who might like to have one since he purposely got too many for his small apartment, so three of them are crowding on his desk at the moment. He'd offer one to Riou, but with his outdoorsy lifestyle he probably prefers the big wild trees of the forest.]
That sounds manageable in any case, though I guess you need to be careful with the antlers. I usually get bull traits; those aren't too bad either. So far I only ripped open a pillow with a horn in my sleep.

[ He is right about that. Riou is currently in the process of trying to get a greenhouse so he can make his own little indoor jungle since the wilderness here keeps trying to fuck him with toxicity. ]
Try pool noodle pieces. You can put them on the sharp parts to act as bumpers while you sleep.

[He isn't even that much of a nature lover, but as a country boy by birth who spent much of his adolescence outdoors he can't help but feel attuned to it a little. Besides even a miniature tree at least creates the illusion of cleaner, fresher air

[ Riou respects putting a lot of work in for a tree. He managed to grow his own coffee tree in Yokohama, after all... ]
It should protect your bedding. I am sure there are other solutions, but the shape is already made in the noodles. Good luck with styrofoam.

[Clearly Riou should try to grow some Prismatic plants and see how it works out, if he hasn't yet... the outskirts are pretty much free real estate, right?]

[That's one worry less. Whether it's Riou's personality or just Hijikata's gut instinct, he'd trust him with pretty much any living thing more than he trusts himself.]
