I've bought a house in Amegahara and I guess you'd call it a bit of a fixer-upper.

I'm doing what I can with it but there's still a lot of work to do. [ And she's kind of winging the shit out of it because what is asking for help...

BUT, HOLD THE PHONE: ]

It has a big garden which is... kind of overgrown.

Anyway, I'm no gardener so I'd appreciate help from someone who knows what they're doing with this stuff. Happy to pay.

Also, anyone who knows anything about taking care of koi.

Coming up on a year now. Just a few weeks from now, anyway.

[ Jill is better at pretending she's close to someone than being that way. She keeps people away from her and frankly, will continue to do so. It's not worth the possibility of loss or suffering. ]

A whole year.

I'd been holding off letting myself make this place like home in any way because I still believe I'll find a way back - thought it would just make me complacent. But then I keep meeting more people like you, who've been here for quite a while - makes it seem more remote.

But I think it's better to be comfortable even if you're still looking for a way out. Just based on how many have been here long-term, you know?
Could leave tomorrow but if it's in a year I'd rather be comfortable for a year.
