[VIDEO, set around the start of Iris] un: producer
Hey, so, uh--
[Rochelle adjusts the video and her position until the auto-focus finally kicks in. She smiles awkwardly at the camera. Instead of her usual locs, her hair is now made up of literal jellyfish tentacles, glowing soft pink and floating around her face as if permanently underwater.
She gestures to it, looking less than amused despite the smile.]
This's been a thing for... a few months now? Since whatever powers-that-be decided I wasn't Cordis anymore. It's kind of cool. But it's also like a mood ring, if mood rings could zap people around me when I'm in a mood.
And with work some days, that's... half the time, I guess.
[Her smile quirks wryly.]
Anyway. I usually have to wear it up just to get it out of the goddamn way. If I'm in a bad mood on top of it, too, I've got rubber gloves. Point being... does anyone else get weird hair problems with your moonblessing too? How do you deal with that?
[She reaches off camera for a hair tie, then starts pushing her hair back behind her - as much as she can as it floats around.]
I guess this is one of those long-lead-ups-to-a-random-poll type things, but... screw it. I'm bored and procrastinating.

[ As demonstration of this, Konoka lifted a strand of her hair, and it actually took a moment to reach the end, which was as violet-tipped as the front of her hair. Naturally, it wrapped around her hand. ]
The tentacle part never even goes away nowadays! But comb aside I find it easier to deal with when Iris moon isn't around.

[Rochelle blinks and leans over - as if it would get her a better look.]
That IS long. So... wait, they have combs for that? AND it's permanent for you? Because I really, REALLY don't want mine to be. [Permanent, she means.]

[ Konoka lifted hers to show it. ]
I thought it was fun having hair like this before the Exalted stuff kicked in and it decided it wanted to get longer. My hair was down to my thighs even before that.

[She huffs a laugh.]
You regret it, or nah?

Only zap others and not you or the rubber gloves more literal?
I'm usually pretty functional unless my jaw elongates and splits. It seems to happen more often during the triple moon, but it's a pain in the ass.
Especially with a mouthful of sharp fangs. No venom yet, but I feel like it's only a matter of time.
no subject
elongates and splits???? okay i feel like i'm being one-upped [Not really. She's kidding.] why's the venom only a matter of time anyway?
no subject
Yeah, but it doesn't hurt or sting. Just sort of get a... snout? Sort of? Sometimes?
Can't say I'm a fan of it.
And it's a matter of time because all bullshit flows my way at some point.
[ She really can be a pessimist! ]
no subject
oh, snout kinda makes sense. still bizarre, but i was thinking like. zombies i've seen. [Because of course she would.] and oh, same girl.

My coat changes but... just the color.
Re: un: konoha
Yeah? What kind of colors?
no subject
[it just seems real easy to sting accidentally!!]
My coat just gets lighter brown... like more deer color. It’s not bad though... sometimes my hooves split, that’s weird.
no subject
It's the ends that sting, so at least it's not my whole head.
Wait - your hooves split?

Man, that's gotta st--... [Don't say sting. Don't say sting. He puts his glasses back down.] ... sssuck. I don't get that, but I do grow an entire coat of fur and shed all over my apartment. It's... a lot of vacuuming. And lint rollers.
[He looks askance at a vacuum that is definitely full of gray fox hair from the recent Cordis, which he is dreading having to empty out.]
Good to actually see you this time, by the way.
no subject
[Okay, not really, if that grin is anything to go by. Also, her hands are preoccupied with putting her hair through a tie anyway.]
Phil, right? Good to see you for real too. So you just go full werewolf, huh?
no subject
Werefox, actually, I think. Specifically the grey fox, uh, native to Pennsylvania and a natural predator of the groundhog.
Even with all the fur, I still get to keep this guy on top. [He pats his hair.] So that's something. Wet fur makes for a pretty shitty shower, though. Takes hours to blow-dry.
no subject
[She snorts at that.]
Oh, trust me. I feel you. Back when I was a Cordis, owl wings were no fun either. Same reasons.

They can sting you? That's just unfair... especially so close to your face.
[Jellyfish sting marks are awful and he'd hate to get them anywhere, but especially not his face. The fangs and pointed bat ears are bad enough for a guy who's (probably too) concerned about appearances.]
I get feathers in my hair, but it's mostly the ones on my back that are a pain. They're so hard to reach I have trouble keeping them clean.
no subject
[Her tone says that's not much of a consolation - or comfort.]
Huh. You can't just... pick 'em out, or something?
no subject
[He grimaces in sympathy, and the expression stays when she suggests trying to remove his feathers. Only the few tufts on his shoulders and around his face are visible on the video at first, but he turns on hover mode and swings the camera around to display that his entire back is covered in white like a swan, along with a pair of (entirely useless) miniature wings.]
I tried that once, and it hurt more than it's worth. And now there are too many for me to consider it. [He sighs, then moves the camera back to his face.] Maybe I should invest in some kind of feather brush. There have to be specialty stores for this kind of thing, right?
