I don't think I've ever used a forum this big before, but I have something I'd like to ask, so here I go!

Is there anyone here who likes to work out?
Usually I get up early to get my exercise in, but I haven't really settled on a routine I'm satisfied with yet.
Going for a run in an unfamiliar place is fun, but it's also a little lonely lol

So I was thinking about putting together a circuit around the groves or the beach!
It'll be mostly endurance rather than strength training, I build muscle quickly and if I go back home with too much I'll get scolded...

Ah, right! And one more thing! I was taking a look at this place

[ insert a link to a dance studio in prismaplace! it looks glitzy and luxurious, with cutting edge tech to mimic various entertainment environments and conditions. thunderous 360° areas with all the bells and whistles, rainy outdoor lives, dive bars, bougie theaters - you name it, it's there. ]

Isn't it cool? I've just been practicing in the park lately, but with TRIGGER's activities picking up, I want to get serious about it.
Is there anyone else interested? It's such a big space that I thought it'd be fun to have more people go! I have sets I'd like to practice, but you'd be welcome to do whatever you'd like, of course. Or I can put together new choreography!
I can bring snacks and drinks, too.

[A beat. For a man who tries to place purpose on everything he does, dipping his toes in the water seems a little too pointless. That and his life doesn't exactly allow for many relaxing activities.

But still, water has saved his ass once. It soothes him, somehow.]

I'm used to freediving, so there are a lot of animals I would react the same to.
Bears can just be a part of that now, I suppose?

There's a pool on the roof of the building I live in.
But the shallows are pretty calm here at the beaches, too.

I love the water, so I wouldn't mind going.

[ when morning comes, ryuu is probably a little too eager to get out of his apartment and onto the beach - he loves the ocean, and he's a people person, besides that. so he's early, seated on a corner of foundation for the seaside hotel he placed the meeting by. since it's barely dawn, the place is still sleepy. he has one leg tucked up, bare heel balanced on the edge, and he's half-humming bars from a song.

of course, he's on the lookout when he's not focused on the rolling waves. ...neverminding he doesn't know exactly who he's looking for, but!

he's not worried. ]

[Mamoru, however, can be nondescript if he wishes, but as he is now, it's a little hard to miss. Shades, a button-up, and a walking cane. Definitely not someone who's really ready for the beach.

He doesn't really know who to look for, either, so he sends the guy another text.]

I'm here.

[ hearing his pocket go off, ryuu takes a moment to check the message before climbing to his feet and taking a look around. he's already a little sandy and windswept, but maybe he's one of the few people who actually enjoys that. and of course, even if he hadn't been so visually distinct... they're pretty much the only two people staging a meeting out here at this time of day.

with a smile that reaches into his voice, ryuu approaches. ]

I'm here too! Good morning.

[ He's... a dancer? That's the one thing that Mamoru can tell from his footsteps and posture, core balance and coordination practiced well enough. Granted that he did allow the system to dictate some of the messages in the broadcast to find out just exactly why this guy wouldn't allow himself to build muscle (what the hell does too much mean, anyway? Too much that you can't move a certain way? It's all very relative...), but he had never actually been around an idol to sense their presence, before.

As someone who's always reading someone's physical capability just by their presence, it's refreshing to sense this in the midst of all the overpowered juggernauts around. ]

You warmed up, yet?

[ in the midst of lunatia's wealth of overpowered juggernauts, he's about as normal as normal gets. having had a taste of that over the past month or so has been a bit bitter, but ryuu doesn't hold that to himself, let alone anyone else. it is what it is, the city a melting pot of times and worlds. smile still flicked at the corner of his mouth, he nods regardless - he has an expressive sound to him. ]

A bit! Just some stretching.

[ bending his elbow behind his head, he tugs on it for a moment and then looks out to the waves. ]

Do you need to?

[Mamoru can appreciate that. Overpowered as he is, he's still within the range of an average Joe who just worked hard. Attuned senses, sure, and one hell of a spidey sense for danger, but no sudden blasts of power. No breaking down a brick wall with the power of his fist, or invulnerability - his scars are there to prove that the man breaks.

Said man gives Ryuu a look.] You aren't expecting me to go into the water, are you?

No, no - but hey, even walking against the tides for a while can take it out of you.

[ even being a genuine sea creature, ryuu feels that. though perhaps he's underestimating mamoru here, he'd rather be safe than sorry. plus, he'd feel bad being the only one in the water... ]

Don't worry. Think I won't sprain a muscle.

[ Guess he should take off his shoes and roll his pants up a bit beforehand, though, so when they do reach near the sand, he looks around to find out where he can lean on.

And yes, a blind man is looking around. Wonders never cease.

He settles for clasping a hand on Ryuu's shoulder, instead, to get his shoes off.] Hold still.

[ oh! with a nod, ryuu squares his rather substantial shoulders, seemingly unphased by the act of mamoru taking a look around and then settling on him. being settled on is honestly the more important thing to him that stands out - ]

Okay! Take your time.

[ with a big inhale, he glances towards the waves rolling in from the dim morning horizon. ]

How long has it been since you've been to the beach?

[A slight pause to his motion of tugging a sock off his foot, and Mamoru tilts his head. Even with a hand resting on Ryuu's shoulder, Mamoru's balance on one foot is actually pretty steady as he actually gives the reply to that question a thought.

Eyes focused on the floor but hearing cast to the waves, he realizes that the beach isn't something he usually went to.]

Think I was a kid. [Shifting to do the same to the other foot - floor is a lot colder than he'd expected.] Used to swim in rivers or lakes.

You're from the coast, right?

[ though a bit of an airhead, ryuu also notes the presence of balance - some people have it naturally, though this is the sort that sinks into him. years of attuning himself to the movements of others has made him sensitive to it.

still, it's with a quiet hum that he considers the answer before he tips his chin down into a fond nod. ]

That's right. Okinawa! I love the sea, but rivers and lakes have a nice atmosphere to them too.

They do. Still, [standing back upright while tying the shoe laces together to drape them on a shoulder] something to be said about the sound of waves, right?

Been there, actually. [He jerks his chin towards the sand to motion Ryuu forward. He sinks his feet onto the sand and the texture has been so distant in his mind it almost feels foreign. It's nice.] For a couple of months.

[ the sound of the waves is what draws him back time and time again, even at the risk of bears and other prismatican nonsense. not home, but the nostalgia, the feelings that is evokes, are similar enough. it's with a quiet affirmation that's half a breath that he moves again, forward, but not too far.

his steps are light and natural, not sinking too far into the sand like a man long starved of its touch. ]

Have you? [ a near instantaneous perk. ] Was it a vacation?

[ a knowing laugh. ]

That's what most people visit for, anyway.

[How do you explain in a simple sentence that you were once exiled of your own dojo after killing your master in a dubious duel, which made you wander the country after getting out jail, to respect his dying wish for Mamoru to live for the sake of knowledge and mastery? How do you explain that you went to Okinawa because it was the birthplace of a specific branch of a martial art?

How do you explain that you use what you learned there to twist ankles and pop shoulders out?]

You could say that. [Answer: You don't.] The food was excellent.

[Mamoru tilts his head towards the ocean. The wave sets sounds regular, but.] How is the tide looking?

[ none the wiser for this inner monologue of pain and perseverance, ryuu brightens at the mention of food. it's not that he doesn't like to pry, meatheaded as he is, but pride in the little things is healthy! ]

It is, isn't it? Okinawa is pretty famous for its food. I like to cook a lot, so if you have something you really like, let me know!

[ of course, the real offer hangs in the air: he'll make you dinner, just like that.

that aside, he gazes out into the water with a resonant hum. ]

It looks great! The water's pretty high... I wonder if it's because of all the moons. Are you ready?

[ Ignorance is literally bliss, in this case.

Mamoru tilts his head, a twitch to a lip at the forwardness and immediate volunteering to cook. Not many people do that; in fact, it's so traditional, the way someone from a place known for its food offers immediately to whip something up, that Mamoru is actually taken back to the time he's sitting with a full stomach while listening to the waves crashing just like this.

Waves that he swung his sword against for the following four hours. But still. Shounen manga flashback aside...] Careful. Gotta make it count if you're cooking. You're representing your home town around here.

[He tilts his head.] Sure. Are you?
