[ Hello again Lunatia - it's your favorite teen girl with a lot of make up and dark hair again, though this time with a few less frivolous questions to pose to you all. She's a little more casually dressed this time around, though by the sounds of her flittering around in the kitchen - she's definitely wearing heels, and occasionally sipping pensively on a glass of wine.
It would seem she's finally had enough of her little 'vacation' from no work and a bit of lounging to be done, and now has sort of lapsed in to pacing her apartment in want for something to do - and so, with that in mind she's come to the network, thinking that maybe someone will know of something that's more.. on pace with what she already knows.
Or, you know, goodness forbid, isn't something she'd consider below her. ]
So, again, I have a few questions. Mainly pertaining to employment here that isn't... serving. [ Taking orders or following too many rules isn't really Re-L's jam. Sorry, world. ]
My main expertise, or really all I've ever worked in, is more or less law enforcement as an Inspector at the Security Bureau. If there are any opportunities along this line of work it's what I would mesh in to most easily. If push came to shove I've also been taught how to play piano, but my preference would be for something along those lines.
Though - on that note... is it worth it to maybe work with the Moonknights? I haven't been here long enough to figure out if they're good, bad or some mediocre in between but at any rate I don't have any further wishes to work along with a government force that's meant to be.. a certain level of oppressive.
All law enforcement is oppressive at the base of it, so there's no use in debating past 'if they are used to enforce fear in the general civilian body I'm not interested.'
Does anyone have any leads? Any Moonblessed in need of private investigation or Moonblessed who run something of a PI outfit?
[ But then, as if to state the obvious. ] ... I'm going a bit stir crazy, here.

Maybe security? Is this a detective work thing or a beat-'em up thing?

Detective work, mostly. Though Iggy took care of it if anyone got aggressive. [ The perks of having a huge robotic partner charged with keeping her safe from the world. Poor Iggy, she misses him in these moments.
Having someone to bounce things off of at all times is a void she sorely needs to fill. ]
Though that was exceptionally rare until Cogito came along, to be fair.

I, uh... Most of the jobs for us seem kinda basic, since Chroma is currency and it's easily attainable. If you're looking mostly to occupy yourself, though, you can always pick and mystery and go in on it.
no subject
Don't worry.. it's quite literally no longer a problem. [ Considering it's all dead and dusted, other than Pino and Kristeeva, anyway.
Though the whole thing about Chroma being easily available earns a bit of a look - they've already discussed how not-fond of touch she is, so it's kind of one of those things that she's unwilling to fully lay down and accept just yet. Literally and figuratively. ]
Mmmn... I've spent a lot of time in the libraries reading but.. so much of it seems so ancient it's most likely not worth digging too deeply in to.
no subject
Yeah, there's-- I mean, I don't know how drastic it is, at this rate, but whatever cataclysm happened here seems like it's kinda an Anthropological mystery. If that's a thing.
Or a History Mystery? Something like that...
Anyway, I don't know what else might require investigation, at least until our own populace gets to a point where the crime rate's higher and we decide the Moon Knights aren't the best folks to call.

I haven't exactly asked either. Back home I'm...was an investigator as well. It's a skill set that I haven't exactly found much use for here.
[ He's honestly just been doing odd jobs since arriving here? What the hell is a person who used to exterminate ghouls supposed to shift careers into... ]
Perhaps detective work could bear some results.
no subject
[ There's a sigh as he says it's a skillset he hasn't found much use for - exactly what she didn't want to hear, but to be fair he had every right to not tell her exactly what she wanted to hear.
The age of yes-men is long over for her and yet it's a hard habit to break. ]
Yes, but then there's the question of whether that would be viable. Or if you'd just spend all your time chasing after things simply for other people's curiosity about Lunatia.
The last time I asked that many questions of that caliber it was a disaster.
no subject
If it bleeds into your curiosity I don't see that being a bad thing. [ In fact it might yield some intriguing results. ]
Starting up an independent agency could work. But then...who knows what the locals might do if one were to pry too much. What happened when you asked questions?
no subject
Well, naturally I'm curious about this place, but there's no taking it back once you've asked the question and learned the answer. For better or for worse.
[ There's a pause as he asks, as Re-L debates how to answer that so that it doesn't overload him or make him think twice about .. well. This whole conversation, honestly. Romdeau in its last moments had not been the shining star of civilization she'd always been told that it was. ]
In short : attempts on your life and the dissolution of everything you may have previously accepted as the truth.
no subject
[ Which begs the question of what exactly she had asked to have her life put in such jeopardy. ]
Is your life still in danger then?

I have recently registered my intent to sign up for the Moon Knights. If it helps any, my assessment of them in my time here is that they are not deliberately oppressive. I simply feel that this society has different priorities than mine did back home.
That being said, there is some value to be had in being an independent investigator, but as others have noted, that depends on having enough business to make it financially viable. It depends on what your ultimate goal is, I suppose.
How long have you been here?
no subject
Would you mind keeping me abreast of that? [ It's a possibility, so she isn't unwilling to consider it. But, considering she's both operated under the auspices of and been under an oppressive governmental body herself before..
She's not too fond of participating with one again. Being under it? She doesn't really have a choice. ]
The ultimate goal is simply time occupation, at the moment. I'm going a bit stir crazy as it stands, used to a much heavier work load than what I currently have.
.. I've been here going on 3 months.
no subject
Of course. I already have several individuals who are interested in updates but are hesitant to join the ranks as well, so I will likely be making network updates if I uncover anything interesting in the future.
( A beat. )
Ah, yes. Enough time to acclimate to the stranger aspects of this place, but not enough to truly find one's role in it. Although, truth be told, I am still walking that path myself.
Have you considered picking up a new hobby?
no subject
I - [ Is it sad to admit this? She isn't going to think about it too damn long because she's come to realize there are, apparently, a lot of things about her life before that aren't really all that 'normal' to others. But, she supposes, there can't be a journey for 'self discovery' or however one wanted to word it, without a little bit of brevity. ] - Never really had time for hobbies, before.
[ Or wasn't allowed them, but there's time to discuss that. ]
It was always career... and then the who proxy business, but. That wasn't too far afield from work in the beginning.
no subject
I understand. I was much the same myself, back home.
( And in all honesty, he's still the same here, unsure how to simply relax without doggedly pursuing some sort of self-imposed goal. But it's an uncomfortable realization, and he decides not to dwell upon it. )
Is there anything you would have liked to try, given half the chance? Perhaps now is the time to seize the opportunity.

Decide that going back to work is the best way to spend their time
Did you not have any ambitions outside of your career or something
Any hobbies you ever wanted to try?
no subject
No, actually.
But that's exactly how Romdeau was meant to work.
no subject
Well
If it helps
I think it’s less the actual intention here and more a consequence to how everything ended up working out
[ something like that. ]
Theoretically it’s a good opportunity to branch out though
Right?
no subject
Theoretically.
However taking advantage of it is the obstacle.
no subject
But I don’t really see how.
For example
How did you learn to play the piano?
And do you actually like it?

What do you consider "oppressive"?
no subject
Let's put it this way..
Where I lived prior to the wastes outside and Lunatia had a security apparatus made for entire control.
From the way fellow citizens were made, to their assignments within the Dome, we were all cogs to a particular wheel.
And I'm sure you can imagine what happened if you refused to be the cog you were designed to be.
no subject
no subject
As the cog that didn’t align : attempts on your life and escaping to a nuclear winter void version of Earth.
Romdeau also no longer exists.
no subject
It's the principal reason why he never rebelled, though anyone would say he would have been justified. Whatever his personal feelings might be, that's no excuse for threatening the existence and security of Great Liang. ]
Where I'm from, rebellion is punishable by death, for you and your entire family, for nine generations.
I'm truly sorry about what happened to your homeland.
