Who here is awake at 2am in the morning.... sources say that Inaba is. ]

I don't know how many of you guys are up at this late hour, but let's just say Iris cycle kind of keeps me up sometimes and a good distraction is absolutely necessary for a bit.

Therefore!

I will provide some classic late night text entertainment in the form of two separate games:

1) If you are Japanese and would prefer to play some shiritori for me for a challenge, I'm here for it.

OR

2) You can do a 'text adventure' story with me, custom made, on the spot. Just give me a basic genre or concept and I'll think of something quick for you. I need to keep up with my writing skills, after all.

So tl;dr: pick your poison, it's late.

Well, we can test it? I'd assume that it might be different if someone's from like, some future version of Japan or past one or from a city that I don't even recognize. . .

When I met people from other Japans before, everything was different. Who the Prime Minister was, who was on each yen-bill, even which countries were involved in WWII. We didn't have any trouble understanding each other, but our equipment was translating things automatically, so I have no way of knowing if our versions of japanese were also different.

I don't know if we could even test that here, since this world seems to be doing something to translate, on top of my shield... As far as I know, I might be getting a double or triple translation. Kind of makes my head hurt trying to think about it, honestly.

Let's just try playing, and if one of us tries to use a word that doesn't exist for the other one, we'll have some idea why?

That's true.

Normally it feels like we're speaking and writing in a different language that isn't Japanese, though. Which is honestly something to think about on its own merit, I guess. Although the fact that everything is different is pretty wild.

I'll use some uncommon words then.

That's why I usually went to the library for my light novels. I'd hate to imagine how bad I would have been if I tried buying all of those.

I have a personal bookshelf myself, but it's not as if I'm going to have a huge collection to the point where it winds up becoming a problem.

Also, it seems like we have the same language after all. Honestly, I think that's kind of a relief? It's good to have something familiar around here.

Looks like it. Although if you told me that you were from Japan 100 years in the future or something and the language still stayed the same, I'd believe you.

Nah, I think we're probably from about the same period, give or take a few years. Well, one of us might end up being a few extra years older when all is said and done, but I don't think it really matters here.

Definitely doesn't. I met someone who was ahead of me by a few years but would technically be younger than me if we were in the same year.

Come to think of it, I don't think I like the posibilities there... Say, if you ended up with somebody here, turn out to be from the same world and suddenly come to find you're actually some lolicon or something...

Kind of wish I had taken my own advice and not really thought about it.
