I'm never leaving my apartment during full Cordis again.

That's still baffling to me, but I suppose every population has their hangups.

[And maybe when you're at risk of Grimm attack at any given moment, who you love is the least of people's worries.]

I'm kind of envious. I was interested in my rival that way for months, but never said anything until I got here because I knew people would've judged me for it.

In Remnant you're more likely to be judged for being with a Faunus than someone of the same gender, so it's not as if prejudices don't exist. Just... directed at other things.

A Faunus?

Another race of beings on Remnant, distinguishable by singular animal traits, such as feline ears or lizard scales.

That's pretty varied for a single race.

But, that's a perspective I do understand. My mother was mixed race, and it caused her some problems. Where I'm from, even something as simple as a hair texture and color that you usually only see in foreigners can cause people to make assumptions.

As I said, it seems that humans will always have ridiculous hang ups and preconceived notions that only harm others. Faunus were treated terribly for a long time and still struggle with prejudice even now.

It's upsetting, especially given that I've known plenty of Faunus who have no reason to be hated.

Most members of marginalized groups don't deserve it. Prejudice is just a tool those in power use to keep groups they consider to be lesser 'in their place'.

You see it in everything, really. From racial minorities, to subcultures, even the old against the young.

I don't believe anyone should be considered lesser than others, but I'm aware mine is not a "popular" opinion.

In any case, I wouldn't worry too much here, both about your behavior under the moons and who you choose to be with. If nothing else this place is probably the most accepting any of us are ever going to be in.

I've stopped worrying about people judging my orientation here. It's actually been really freeing, being able to openly admit what kinds of people I find attractive.

But, it's a bit harder to shrug off my behavior under Cordis. That affects other people, and I'm used to sexual advances from men toward people they aren't dating being considered creepy.

If you were being creepy, I would have said so. Just because I'm quiet doesn't mean I'm without my own autonomy.

It wasn't just you I was being flirtatious toward. And some people are told by the rest of society that they're automatically in a position of disadvantage when dealing with men.

[In other words, sexism is bad and doesn't just make things harder for women.]

Has anyone made any complaints to you with this post?

Surprisingly, the only complaint was...about teasing someone with my outfit and illusions.

Then I believe you're fine and overly stressing.

Give the people here some credit. We're all very aware of what kind of world and situation we're in.

Maybe I'm the one having trouble shaking bad thought patterns. I'm so used to the idea that women will both expect entitlement from men and not expect to get support if they try to fight it that I'm assuming it's going to be the default among Moonblessed, too.

While there may be some truth to that, I believe there is enough diversity in cultures here that it isn't the norm.

It seems to me in a world where physical affection is necessary, being direct will help more than hinder.

I know there are a fair number of people here from some version of Japan.

Then again...I also know there are at least some Japanese women who felt stifled by the pressure to only pursue someone they thought they might marry. It might be mistaken to approach this from an assumption that women are more likely to consider an advance to be an imposition than a compliment, since the attitudes I hear about could very well be lies to save face in a society that looks down on women who show an interest in sex.

If that's the case, I wouldn't second guess yourself so much then. We've already talked about how this place is freeing for you, and I imagine the same can be said for many others.

I know it is for Rise-chan. We've talked a fair bit about the kinds of expectations we faced back home, and how much of a relief it is to be able to do what we want here.

She's explained as much to me as well.

[Huntsmen really do have entirely different expectations put upon them, but ones that are far more reasonable given what they signed up for.]

In any case, you're fine with me.

I'm glad. I think it'd be uncomfortable for everyone involved if things were awkward between me and a partner's partner.

I'm sure if something were truly wrong, Rise would do something to fix the situation. Or at least attempt to.

Thankfully it's not that way.
