Good day. My name is Sandalphon, and I manage Cafe Azure.
With Valentine's Day approaching, I would like to devise a menu for the occasion. Since our realms differ greatly, what flavors and motifs are common to the holiday where you come from?
I'm familiar with chocolate and anatomically inaccurate hearts.
Also, do any local businesses offer free refreshments to new arrivals? It has occurred to me that this may help them acclimate.
Thank you in advance for any input.

It doesn't surprise me that this differs in other realms. Is New York one of those worlds where there are vast continents?

Well, New York is a city, but it's on Earth, and yeah, we have a lot of different continents, with even more countries spread across them. Each culture is unique.

I've no doubt that any gift with thought and care behind it has merit. But isn't it peculiar that we share holidays, and even observe them similarly?

It does seem a little strange that certain holidays can be present in multiple worlds, and have similar traditions, but I guess when you get right down to it, it’s all about people. Some things are universal. Family, friends, love. Valentine’s Day is all about love. That’s something every world has in common.

[ He has...a very particular area of interest... ]
You may be right about that. I can't imagine any world with sentient beings could be void of care or appreciation for others. At least, I can't picture what it would be like.
no subject
I’m not sure I could picture a world like that either, and I don’t think I would want to. Usually it’s dangerous to assume, but on this one thing, I think it would be okay to assume that’s the case.

It would be preferable, at the least. Much would be missing, for people to be such a way, and I couldn't wish it on anyone even in theory.

[This is important.]

I'm certain it pleases him to see how far their innovations have come, but I haven't heard of a frappuccino before. Is that something they sell in this place?

I'd be surprised if they didn't. Everything here is pretty futuristic by my world's standards- either they have it, or there's something comparable. It's kind of like a coffee milkshake, but not.

It's difficult to imagine such a beverage, but it gives me something to investigate. I usually drink my coffee black, but it sounds like a novel invention.
