[It's been almost a month since her arrival. Nike has sensed the changes within the world and heard the voices from the natives. All of it felt oddly welcoming, a little sweet, maybe unsettling by the sudden waves of energy coming from the moons-filled nights, and maybe a little fear and some anxiety in-between especially after the events of the amphitheater. Which was happily taken care of. But now it was her turn to experience the next phase of the moon which was just around the corner...]

...um, I hope I'm doing this right. First time using such a....impersonal item. Something about using this to talk to a lot of people. Like using a microphone...? Just without the singing?

[That was the best way for her medieval mind to go around it. Just ignore the fact her country was far too advanced in a world that shouldn't be. A detail she has learned the reason of, but wasn't important right now.]

Um, right, so...I'm Nike. I arrived a while ago. And I was wondering: is there somewhere I can go when my phase of the moon pops up? Like a safe place I can hide away in...? I'm sorta alone. I don't have many people I trust here and those I do...I may have messed things up...

[By aggressively attacking their ears, going overboard with flattering, and just simply being more clingy than usual. Even she is embarrassed by it but he happened to look insanely gorgeous that day, more than usual....not that it was an excuse but...]

Anyway, is there anyone with powers similar to mine? Like sensing their surroundings and knowing what a large group of people feel? Or are able to hear the planet's voice or influence? I've been...having some trouble. I don't know how to explain it.... [More like she's been feeling very uncomfortable with herself, getting easily irritable, feeling more self-conscious than usual, and yet staring at herself more than she would like. Not to mention the cold chills traveling her spine and arms.]

Is it normal for your body to feel so cold while feeling pretty warm? Or just agitated in general? I don't know what to do...or expect. Any advice would be very appreciated.

[How should she end this? Um.....she's turning this off like now because what is talking to herself? This is weird. She doesn't like this.]

[The explanation about his power was fascinating. It was the opposite of her power while remaining similar. How can she ever be afraid of someone similar to her or kind? He even looks cool! Seriously, it was difficult to not be impressed.]

Seems like our powers are very similar! I can only hear the thoughts of the world while sense and somewhat manipulate the emotions of those surrounding me.

[In her case, she sings for the world's power and to absorb and purify the emotions of those in her area.

Their explanation about the sensory overload will leave her silent. She wanted to know the way they deal with it only to find its similar to the way she has been handling it: hide and concentrate on something else. An understanding smile will appear as she nods.]

Iris is the cycle I'm stuck with too. I'm thrilled in meeting someone so similar to me even in moon blessing. There is very little I know about it so I have no idea where to begin my preparations. [But she will take a deep breath, trying to stable herself at the moment and not allow her fears overtake her.] But when it comes to change, I don't fear it. I already went through multiple ones for the past year. Some were sudden. So you don't have to worry. I can handle it!

[If she hasn't thrown up from the first phase, or has now, then she can handle it...maybe....hopefully...]

[He's more used to people fearing him because, well, he used to do some bad stuff. Not anymore for the past years, fortunately, he's turned around. At least he'll appreciate someone thinking he looks cool, though...]

Similar, indeed. Yet different. The only thoughts I can hear are of sentient beings... and I do have telepathy. I can't hear the world's thoughts or manipulate emotions like yourself, however.

[Yet. Maybe he could develop his powers even further, here. Well. Regardless, he's thrilled. It's difficult for the girl to see due to the mask, or the lack of a 'face', but Soundwave is just as pleased to meet a kindred spirit. For millions of years, he's the only psychic on his world, and ever since coming here, he's met a few similar beings, this girl being the latest one.

As for the way dealing with the senses, honestly, if there is a better alternative than 'hide and concentrate on something else', he's willing to listen. For the time being, that is his tried and true method.]

I see. I hope you can get through the cycle, Miss. Iris transformation lasts longer due to being the last cycle before the triple moon cycle, that is a disadvantage. The worst period of the month for all Moonblessed.

[They don't really have a break, so that sucks for Iris Moonblessed.]

I have some methods to help with the Iris 'blessing', however, I can't give you the details as they are not appropriate for public discussion. [Catch his drift?] Aside from the physical transformation, I can tell you the one thing Iris mainly has to deal with... being 'in heat'.

I can only share teleplay with whoever I decide to partner with. [Which unfortunately will depend on the chemistry shared as well. She could only share emotional telepathy at best and some visual when she is close to death.] Or if you're dead.

[Spirits and ghosts can be her partners as well. They are easier to form a chain with than the living most of the time.]

Do you think you can speak to me through telepathy? I'm not exactly human...

[Not entirely. Not after renouncing her humanity to become her world's guardian. Which this world confuses her on. Is she a spirit or human? She feels the same needs as a human while all at once she is permitted to keep her powers and ethereal dress which she has found cannot be swapped out. It's stuck with her.

But she won't get into those details. Not at the subject concerning Iris. Which was new information. Apparently there is a triple moon cycle after this one, meaning her cycle will not be ending any time soon. Everyone else will be suffering alongside her, but for now, she'll need to be strong because of of...]

In heat...?

[Her voice will get lower as she....excuse her but her brain is just....lost in space now.]

[Ah, the reaction he expected. Can't blame her for it, as his own reaction was somewhat similar to hers. Back when he first learned about that, it short-circuited his brain module.]

[He may look and sound casual about it, but trust him that he's embarrassed in there. He could give her advice to maybe satisfy the heat a little that doesn't involve moonlacing, though it might involve... adult toys.... but... ah, he'll wait until she gets a hold of herself first. Not exactly human... That doesn't matter. Whether you're human or not, mechanical or organic, I can speak to you through telepathy. Only those who are devoid of emotions I'm unable to speak to them through telepathy or read their minds... [And there aren't a lot of people completely lacking in emotions.]

You can share telepathy with the dead, was it... What about those who died back home and brought to this world seemingly resurrected and alive? Is it be possible for you to share a connection with them?

[He wonders... do people like him are considered dead, here? A spirit, maybe? The answer is obvious back in his universe, but here... he doesn't feel any different than when he was alive, still has his needs and all.]

In all honesty, I consider myself to be alive, but as a spirit than human. [FOR MANY, MANY, MANY REASONS, but...] I could be wrong too. After all, a spirit does not feel the urge to survive by eating, drinking, sleeping, or bathing. They don't need any of it. [And yet...] It'd be hypocritical to consider myself human when I renounced it.

[But in terms of her new friend.]

I wanna consider you a living spirit as well. [And even then.] You are clearly a living being, even if you don't seem like one. I'd like to find out if I could share a connection with you. Do you mind if I ask you to be my rain partner?

[Yup, telepathy... They could go back to the whole Iris and the heat thing later, or maybe not.

It's quite the weird line of existence he's been thrust into... Like her, he still needs his basic necessities as a living being; refueling, recharging, waxing. And yet he's not quite living. Though he tries not to think much of his current existence as he lives his second life in this world, the question does irregularly return to left him pondering. And keeps him up at night.

'Living spirit' sounds about the right term for it.

And it seems like he's not the only like this around here- this girl seems to share a lot in common than he'd initially thought. If she hadn't mentioned that she's not human, he could've been fooled by her appearance...]

I'd like to consider myself a living being. A living Cybertronian. [And hearing he's considered as such reassures him, even if he's accepted his death the moment it happened. Her offer to share a connection surprises him though, head tilting to the side. Quite the intimate offer for a first meeting, but he'll see where this is going.] Rain partner?

[Ah, so his race did have a name. Or would it be considered a species??? This is a first for her to think of such matters. It was weird and made her a little uncomfortable. In the sense, she didn't want to consider them to be different from her. They were both living beings, nothing more or less.

She'll stop thinking about trivial matters like this.

[As for their next question, Nike was more than happy to explain it the best way she can.]

A rain partner is a relationship forged between the caster and the one they intend to show the rain to. Be it through a wish or a strong desire. It's one of few ways for the castor to connect with their new surroundings while bonding with their partner in the process. All of it is done to bring balance to the world while the caster is used as a middle man of sorts. Through the connection, we gain new abilities that tie us together. Telepathy is one of those ways.

[Species. But if Nike truly does treat him no differently than any other living beings, then she's already winning respects points from him. As a empath himself, Soundwave do believe that they aren't any difference between mechanicals or organics, forms aside, they are all just still living beings. Although it did take him millions of years to finally get that, but better late than never.]

Cybertron. It was-- [Destroyed. But that's depressing, so he won't actually bring it up.] - It's a shining, metallic planet home to us Cybertronian. A planet with towering cities not unlike this city and vast metallic plains.

[He speaks fondly of his homeworld. There's more he could say about it, like how it's the body of their god, Primus, and all associated legends but then it'd just end up being a history lesson about god robots.]

I see, it sounds somewhat similar to how I forged a psychic connection with someone. [Though hers sounds more magical than his own, speaking about bringing balance to the world and connecting with the surroundings whereas his only affects the individuals. Regardless, connecting to each other telepathically is quite the intimate, bonding process.] Hmm. And you want me to be your partner for this?

[It was difficult to not be pulled in by the explanation about the cyberton's world. Just the description alone will have her eyes glittering in delight. She can only imagine a purely metallic planet with large towers and plains.]

Did you have metallic trees and flowers too? Could you smell them? What about animals? Do they exist?

[If he had spoken about the legends of his world, then she would've been far more excited about the details. Robot history is more interesting than human history! Please teach her, new friend!]

Of course! I'm not sure if it'll work, but I wouldn't mind trying it out with you. Everyone needs a friend, right!?

[Honestly, she was a very touchy and feeling person who knows to push boundaries. There was a reason her fiance didn't trust her with other men, not even other women after noticing her attachment to Ursula, his worse enemy. So the idea of asking for something so intimate has not gone noticed just yet. She was interested to learn she can bond with others. It didn't have to be strictly human.]

[From how he's describing his world, it's no surprise it would sound so fantastical to anybody. Of course, they are the bad, especially how Cybertron's society was in the past. Something Soundwave had lived through... Well, he could share stories and legends instead, those are less upsetting anyway.

All those questions would be met with a 'yes', but what Nike said at the end brings him pause. Everyone needs a friend, right!? How foolish. However, saying something like that, while being so earnest, he can't but be drawn to it, even when they're thinking about doing something so intimate. Soundwave, fortunately, doesn't lack friends here, but there's no harm making another, right?]

I suppose... Shall we meet somewhere? I can share more about my world with you later. Like I said, I had somewhat similar powers to yours. If yours doesn't work, we could try to forge a similar bond with my powers instead.

[If he was honest, he misses having a close telepathic link with someone... Of course, those sort of connections are reserved to close friends, rather than someone he just met and bonding together in that way.]
