immortalmarshal: (Okay let's use our brains for once)

A few (possibly) helpful suggestions.

~Video, Public~

[The video opens on Cor reclining a little hesitantly in his chair. There's a couple of fading bruises peeking out from beneath his sleeves around his wrist, but nothing too terrible on public display. His face, however, seems more thoughtful than usual.]

I understand that many here are concerned about the impact of recent events. And given that some of you are already making the initiative to try and re-earn the trust of the natives here, it's heartening to see how many of us are bouncing back in peaceful ways. From food kitchens to regular businesses, to even those of us who joined the Moon Knights - it's good to give back to a community that once welcomed us with open arms, and could still do so again in the future.

However...

[He closes his eyes as he bows his head in contemplation.]

We must not forget the other threats to the people here - both without and within. The Moon Knights tend to do a decent job for more normal situations; but as we've seen, much that has happened of late isn't exactly 'normal', even by their standards. And even among us Moonblessed...we have civilians that needs protection, even as they do what they can to help us in our battles, and to aid the community at large.

[Eyes snap open with clear determination as he looks up at the monitor once again.]

For those who are interested, I am willing to offer some lessons in self-defense. No weapon training - just some hand-to-hand basics so that you can fend off a threat long enough to go get to safety, or to even neutralize a lesser threat, such as an armed robber. There'll be no payment required, since this is meant to be an offer for the greater good.

That said, if there are those like me who are trained in more than that? I would recommend starting up some teamwork building exercises. And not just among those from your home, either. If we are to face whatever future threats there may be, we need to be able to better work together as a cohesive unit. Magic users should consider teaming up with those who prefer more mechanical means of fighting, for example.

And finally, I do want to take a page out of a certain teenage scholar's book: Information gathering. We need to pool our intellectual resources, both of mystical and scientific forms. We're luck that the local government still favors us, so let's use that to our advantage. Let's see if we can't get the officials to let us help them find whatever information they need for what lies ahead, and visa versa.

[He pauses for a brief moment.]

...Feel free to respond back to be however you wish. But know this - unless we figure out how to work and rise up together, we're going to fall apart...all of us.

[And just like that, the video appears to cut off to the public.]

~Video, Private to castmates (Minus Ardyn)~

[But instead, he shifts the security mode on his device to filter to feed only to those like him, who hale from Eos. Well, most of them. Even after saying such things, he's highly reluctant to include a certain 'chancellor' in everything still.]

Your Majesties...
Prompto, Ignis, Gladio...
We need to strongly consider holding regular drills and sparring sessions ourselves - preferably in the morning. Talk to me regarding whenever each of you are available, and I can start setting up the training schedule for us.

Though it's also suspicious how many of us there are, in a way. How many people are civilians in your world? It's the majority of mine yet the ratio of people with some kind of skill used in battle (even if just medical) seems very high.

I take it you're among them? I am, as well. Non-magical, all science, however.

I do make flash grenades and offer a several for free to anyone willing to ask, if you'd like to send anyone my way. I can possibly do more than that, but I don't want to overreach and end up not being able to make enough for everyone. It's definitely good for people who can't fight to escape a sticky situation.

Jill Valentine. I'm not sure my credentials mean anything here, but I'm a founding member of an anti-bioterrorism NGO and current Spec Ops agent back home. Formerly with a localized SWAT team called STARS and the US Army, Delta Force.

There's a large number of international military members, but the comparison to civilians is vast.

Absolutely. They're always good when you're in a tight spot, so long as you can avoid the flash yourself.

I see. We have things like that, though royalty is few and far between. Typically the people who protect them are glorified bodyguards that are just there to be a sponge for bullets. I've learned that sort of status and the people protecting them or commanding their armies are pretty different in most other worlds (universes?).

Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Cor.

There's always a war going on somewhere, unfortunately. Some small and personal, others more large scale.

Ha ha, well, I can lend a hand if you need me to. ;)

I see. That's not dissimilar from what I know, but it's definitely less alike than more. We don't have magic where I'm from at all, it's entirely fictitious so it's something that's taken a lot of adjusting to for me.
