[Neito's on break at the moment, but his Moon Knight uniform can be clearly seen on him. He looks thoughtful.]
Do our birthdays still count here if we're just going to forget everything when we go home?
[Guess who didn't say a word about his birthday happening in May? This guy. Truth be told, he'd been too busy to worry about it, and most of the people he'd want to celebrate with weren't here.]
I was thinking that it might be helpful to new arrivals if we had a regular meet and greet event. Maybe on the day before the Sanguis cycle begins. That seems to be one of the calmer times in the month, based on my observations.
[While there's no guarantee things will always be that way, he has noticed a distinct pattern. Moon cycles cause individual chaos within people's lives, and then a few days after the Triple Moon cycle, there's frequently some sort of disaster.]
I don't mind being the main event coordinator, but it would help if I had help.

[Noooooooooo! :c]
I think an orientation would be really helpful! There are a lot of things I found out through word of mouth. ...Like just now, about forgetting everything when we go home. That's kind of sad.
[It's REALLY sad, she doesn't want to forget the friends she made here! Very noooooooo! :c]

[He's hardly going to be upset when she didn't know when it was. He does, however, notice that she seems a bit upset.]
Maybe we can do a bit of brainstorming to decide what information would be the most important for people to know. I also thought it would be helpful just for people to get to know others, since not everyone uses the network very much.
no subject
[Although it's not very surprising if she has to ask him for a guest list to create said surprise party.]
Yeah, a lot of people who show up here haven't even used machines before, so it'd be nice to show them what they can do, and take them on a tour of the city so they know where all the good food is.

[Look at him trying to be charming. He's admittedly feeling a bit needy due to the Iris cycle, as evidenced by the telltale rabbit ears and antlers adorning his head right now.]
If enough people volunteer, it might be good if each volunteer covered a different topic and there were different tables.
no subject
I'd be happy to volunteer. Anou...maybe I'll let other people pick their specialties first, then fill in wherever there's an obvious need.
What's your favorite kind of cake?
no subject
[Regarding favourite flavour...they're all French. Every last one of them.]
Dacquoise. I also like charlotte russe and fraisier.
no subject
[And she is familiar with exactly zero of those things.]
...What are those?
[And she is curious about all of them, which means she might very well make all of them just so she can try everything.]
no subject
[Maybe they'll get really lucky and someone who is an expert in technology will volunteer. However, he's not holding his breath. He's going to assume that most volunteers will be well intentioned Moonblessed with an average level of knowledge.]
They're all French types of cake. Dacquoise is traditionally made with almond or hazelnut meringue sponge cake, separated with layers of whipped cream or butter cream. Charlotte russe is a sponge cake pressed into a mold, filled with custard or cream, with cooked fruit, spices, and a little bit of brandy for added flavour. Fraisier is a cake with layers of sponge cake, vanilla flavoured cream, marzipan, and a lot of fresh strawberries, especially on the exterior lining.

[She's trying to imagine how they'll taste, but it sounds like there are a lot of interesting textures at play too. She has to try these!]
Do you know how to make them? If not, I'll see if I can find a recipe online. And if THAT fails, I think we can cobble something together that's similar!

[It seems like he's really close to his family, and loves them a lot. That kind of relationship is really sweet.]
Let's do our best, then. Put together a grocery list, then we can meet up, buy all the ingredients we need, and bake them together! I promise I'll make it fun.

[She's quiet for a moment, studying his face with a little smile.]
...You're really impressive, Monoma-san. I love how you can ask for hugs and dates so naturally. It takes a lot of confidence!
no subject
Admittedly, I wouldn't have been quite so forward about hugs on my home world. It's much easier to bring up when people actually require physical contact to survive in this world.
no subject
[Next time she'll ask HIM out! ...Which won't really change anything in the long run, but he might like to know that she enjoys his company too.]
Did you date a lot back home?
no subject
[Shame? What's that? Nope, he is 100% going to have fun flirting here.]
No, not really. I dated a little in middle school, but stopped when I got to UA. The pro-hero course is very demanding. I got overconfident when it came time to study for our midterms and had to do make up work. Lesson learned.
[That, and he's kind of a gremlin whose obsession with beating class 1-A sometimes grates on his classmates, even if they're otherwise on good terms.]
no subject
[She's a little surprised he didn't date much in high school, given his personality, but she didn't date at all so!]
Are you going to go to school here too, or just keep dating?
no subject
[Not to mention, it seems pointless to go to school here if he can get a job easily enough without it.]
If there's any subject I'm really interested in learning about, I can always read a few books on the topic without worrying about doing well on assignments and exams.
no subject
[She grins sheepishly.]
It's just fun, being able to spend a lot of time with the Prismals. And they have lots of fun school activities we didn't have, like a school dance, and things like that! You're right, though, being a Moon Knight is probably better training for a hero. I'm glad you're enjoying it!
no subject
Either way, she's going to shift to focus on the other topic now. ]
That might be a good idea, but the problem is makings sure that everyone who is a new arrival knows about it to show up. From what I can tell, we usually get a lot of people at once, don't we? [ Not as many as when she first showed up, but still a sizable number of people.]
no subject
[Showing up unexpectedly in a world one didn't even know existed can do that.]
We do. Perhaps I could talk to the Lunatian government officials about allowing us to put up a poster in the area where people wake up on the Iris moon.
no subject
[ She's not sure if it's the actual day or not, but she figures it has to be close enough for her saying that to be appropriate.]
That would help a little, though I'm not sure how many people would actually be paying attention to posters on the walls when they first arrive. [ She knows that she didn't, at least.]
I was thinking that maybe a post on the network could work, but... that still has the same problem. Plenty of people don't pay attention to what's posted.
no subject
[He considers her point, and tries to think of how they might get around the issue. There isn't much to do if people are simply not paying attention, but they could try to make it as obvious as possible...]
What if it was in very large all capital letters and said "IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR NEW ARRIVALS" with an arrow pointing to some pamphlets in a bin below?
no subject
That'll probably work a little better, but it's likely still easy to miss in all of the confusion. Maybe if it were a sign with blinking lights or something on it instead of just a poster?
no subject
no subject
I guess that'd be the best solution then. I didn't really think about the issues that blinking lights could cause. Maybe they'll be willing to mention it when talking to new arrivals if they'll help make it visible. [ At least she hopes that'd be the case. ]

[someone is very passionate about birthdays, it seems. that same someone? also passionate about helping others and planning events.]
You know, that's a great idea. I definitely think we should have some sort of buddy system to help others get used to what's happening here. There's a lot of information that gets thrown at us on day one, but when someone broke it down for me in a less formalised way, it all made sense! Or, as much sense as it can make. Count me in to help you however I can!

[He'd prefer it to be a low key birthday this year, simply because he doesn't know many people here well enough to invite them, and because he misses his friends back home. But at least making some desserts with Orihime sounds like a pleasant way to spend it. He can always bring the leftovers into the Moon Knight headquarters.]
I was thinking it might be best if there were a few people who were...well...not quite experts, but at least as knowledgeable as a non-local can be on the topic. I had to study the local laws to become a Moon Knight, so that's one topic I'll tackle.
