[Video] June 8th [cw: sex work/prostitution]
[As Hanzo comes into focus he clears his throat, straightening his yukata as he gathers his thoughts.]
Greetings. If you do not know me, my name is Hanzo Shimada.
In light of recent events I have been more thoroughly considering starting a business to provide paid chroma replenishment services. For those who were left drained and suffering caring for dragon eggs due to lack of companionship, this would provide services to provide them with chroma to avoid depletion for a small percentage of chroma generated as payment.
Additionally these services may also be used by those who are looking for companionship further than hugging and hand holding for whatever reasons. We will not ask. I plan to have clientele remain anonymous if they so decide.
In order for something of this nature to be plausible I would need to know if there is any demand for such services and if there are any moonblessed among us that would be interested in employment as sex workers. You would be paid well, protected, and treated fairly. No one will have to take on clients that they, for any legitimate reason, are uncomfortable with.
[He leans back a bit casually in his seat instead of being rigid and upright. His father would be ashamed of his manners but made proud by Hanzo's initiative, so he briefly offers a smile as he moves stray strands of hair from his face.]
As stated before, I understand this topic may be taboo for some, so you are free to leave feedback publicly or anonymously. Could you support a business venture like this? Would you be willing to do work that is necessary but not necessarily easy? Let me know your thoughts, good or bad. All feedback is welcome.
Thank you for your time.

An app may be a useful thing, but cannot always guarantee that each party feels satisfied. I do think there is room for both these things to exist and be useful to us all.

I can see the pros and cons to this, but I just can't get behind it on a personal and moral level. Call me old fashioned, I guess. But as the above stated, I have been trying to make a check-in app for folks. This is the most straightforward way, I imagine.
Good luck. If I were a different man, I might even offer, but I do what I do with special people.
text
I can understand your reservations, and I assure you no one will be involved in any of this against their will. Which is what I am assuming your intention was with the app. A tool to prevent bad behaviors before they can happen? Employment would be voluntary and nothing will be forced upon any worker or client. You are fully within your rights to not be interested for moral reasons. No worries.
Thank you for your feedback. I do appreciate it.

In truth, he is not entirely sure of himself.]
It does not seem ethical, to offer for money what might instead be given for free.
voice
If that is true, how is it that the poor and starving must still pay for food if they would like to eat? Who gets to decide what should or should not be free? I think if a person provides a service, they have every right to be compensated for that service.
[He pauses, considering his words.]
I understand your concern, but if people are able to get it for free then I do not imagine those are the people who would be interested in these services.

This is...vanity, Hanzo. What should be "free" is being marketed as commonplace wares.
voice
[Yoshimitsu is not one he suspected would be against a business like this, but he is willing to hear him out all the same as well.]
Think about it from the position of someone who is chroma depleted, has no interest in forming social connections with others, and would simply like to get replenished and get on with their lives. How would they go about avoiding depletion? Going door to door begging for someone willing to allow them to have their way? Would you be willing to give your time and body to a person you do not know who has no interest in getting to know you free of charge?
If so then open a business where you dispense these services to those in need free of charge and perhaps I will not have to have a business plan to provide services for a fee, which, I do not think is unreasonable.

I'd work for you. Especially if you can keep your word about it being safe.
voice
[Hanzo is unsure of many aspects of this business venture, but he has absolutely no uncertainty about being able to keep employees safe.]
If this comes to pass, you absolutely have my word. Your work environment would be safe, and security would be a priority. I recognize that not all people are good respectful people, and I would not hesitate to throw a customer from the premises by force myself if anyone stepped out of line.

how are you gonna generate any business using a model like this, exactly?
we all generate the energy intrinsically, right? why would anyone pay to generate it? they'd be losing chroma to gain chroma...??
you could probably make more of a profit just spooning with someone for eight hours.
txt
Intrinsically would suggest you could do so without companionship, which is not true. You need another moonblessed to moonlace with to make chroma.
People would pay to generate it for a number of reasons. The first being not wanting to spoon with anyone for 8 hours. I can only speak for myself but I am probably not the only one who feels this way, but I would rather do something fast for 20 minutes to generate the same amount of chroma than doing something uncomfortable for 8 hours.
It seems you may be assuming all moonblessed enjoy spooning or hand holding which is not the case. And those with busy schedules may not be able to spare 8 hours spooning. If you are and it works for you then I am happy, these services would not be necessary for someone like you.
video
It could be significantly easier for someone to walk into a shop and get their chroma fix. )
I'm sure there would be many who are thankful for a place to simply go and know what will be expected of them as well as those they employ. If anything ever happens, I hope you know you can call me. I will do what I can for whatever may come to pass for your employees or those they may need protection from; I'm sure you'll take good care of them, but that's not to say the guest you throw out won't be injured, as well. And by then I'm sure they'll have learned their lesson.
( Her tone turns up a bit at the end with her teasing, a little lighter now. But she means it; she wouldn't be able to help him with the business nor would she be interested in "working" for him, but he will always have her aid if he needs it. Having a doctor on call may help assuage anyone who wishes to help others for a wage, as well. )
video

TEXT, un: greedtheavaricious
From me, definitely.
But I’m sure there are other people who’d want this.
[Though, let’s be real, Greed wants this more ‘cause he’s a horny dude than ‘cause he has any concerns about his ability to get Chroma or find people to have sex with. He has full confidence in himself when he comes to that stuff. But, being Greed, he’s both horny and of the belief that more is always better.]
text
[Of course marketing a business as chroma replenishment services sounds much better than the alternative, but it would provide more chroma for those who aren't in need of replenishment but just want moonlacing partners for fun. Hanzo would rather avoid the moral nonsense all together.]
I have the feeling you are right, but having proof of such suspicions before I get started seems reasonable.

This sounds like a very lucrative concept.
[In theory, anyway. As he said already, he'll need to know that demand before he can establish just how effective his proposition might be.]

There are brothels for Prismals, and I suppose I thought something similar for moonblessed might be beneficial. Lucrative or not.

Granted, at this point I cannot say for certain how frequently I would be likely to patronize such an establishment. And it is also probably too early for me to say whether I would have an interest in working there.
But in concept, I most definitely support it!
video
Also, you raise a good point. If situations like the eggs or the chroma draining plants are to be a regular thing, I suppose the place will be more busy during those times. Perhaps full time and part time positions would be wise. I am glad you raised this point.

[Dorian has no issue with this, prostitution and sex work isn't as taboo in Thedas as long as discretion was practiced.]
Many brothels back home exist under the protection of some kind of guild with guard type situations for the protection of prostitutes and patrons. So there's a certain degree of respect along with discretion.
no subject
[Even if he's not the type to visit an establishment like that himself, he's sure he can manage one to provide that option for anyone that wants to. It helps that he doesn't see the enterprise as dirty or unsavory. Just another job. Something to work on when there is nothing else to do but drink.]
If this works out, could I interest you in coming to the premises to give feedback on how things could be improved? I would love to pick your brain about some things.

It was following that logic that lead me to open my own establishment. You would have to do a very poor job managing it, not to see any returns, what with the way chroma gets generated.
I imagine what you're proposing would also have a certain demand as well, given the discretion and reserve many would prefer to hold onto while here.
text
Becoming wealthy in this place is not difficult, but there are setbacks. Chroma draining plants, needy dragon eggs, and who knows what else. There is nothing in particular that I would buy as apparently we cannot buy our freedom, but that is a me problem. The workers would be well paid and comfortable.
