VIDEO; UN: SMOKING_BOMB
[The video starts up and is on for almost an entire minute with Gokudera staring at it. He's got leopard spots on his face, fluffy silver-gray cat ears poking out from his hair, and then he drops the device.]
Fuck-!
[It lands on the floor, camera pointed up. He's right in front of the door to his apartment, and it seems he can't pick his phone up, because instead of having hands, for this Triple Moon, he has paws. No thumbs. He can't pick the phone up, and instead bats at it. He's not realized that it's recording.]
Whatever...
[So now he's going to try and open his front door. There's a lot of cursing under his breath, and he's smacking at the handle, unable to knock without knuckles to do so.]
Stupidfucking... finger... toes.... just gotta... Ugh! Come on....
[Claws drag over it, and then he's leaning forward, trying to angle his paw and then getting a claw stuck in the keyhole. Gokudera makes a pathetic wailing noise and has to carefully twist it out. He huffs at the door, takes a few steps back, and cuts off the feed with one of feet, which is also a paw. Help him? Cheer him on? Laugh at him?]

[Hopefully the baseball idiot will get on the network and see what's taking him so long to get back inside.]
You're inviting me over?! You don't even know me!!
no subject
[an enforced hug-a-thon will do that - even if Linneus was the one doing most of the talking. Gokudera doesn't need to know that he's done far more with people he's known far less.]
At least let me make the offer? If you like, you can take me up on it. If not, I understand.
no subject
Where are you, then?
no subject
[It's strange for an address to be inside of a building, but he sends along the details anyway]
I'll try and find something you can hold.
[his teacups might not be much use with Gokudera's... finger-toes.]
no subject
[Well, he's got the address and heading that way!]
You need me to hold something?
no subject
[do people not... commonly receive guests where Gokudera is from?]
I didn't... make that clear enough, did I?
no subject
[Gokudera is still headed over, not put off.]
No. You just invited me over and told me you'd find something I could hold. Makes sense now, though

video to action!
[Gokudera is almost at Linneus's place of residence and he'd knock on the door, but there aren't much as far as knuckles go. So... have an elbow on your door.]
I'll do my best.
[And the video cuts off, leaving him standing at Linneus's door.]
no subject
Ah - please, do come in.
[he looks a little different to last time - fallow markings dappling his skin at the temples and the sides of his neck, that Gokudera can see. His eyes... are also dark, when on their first meeting Gokudera might have been close enough to see that they are usually bright blue.
He is certainly not as encumbered as his companion, though - he might have had it far worse. A delicate gesture to the small sitting area]
Please - usually I would prepare a tea set but I imagine that would be cumbersome with your... condition. But I have other crockery and china so I think we can make do.
[indeed, he's laid out a fair assortment of receptacles of various shapes and sizes. Lingering, once he has seen Gokudera inside and closed the door behind him-]
...have you any preference over tea or coffee?
no subject
Thank you for your hospitality.
[Linneus may notice that his guest smells very strongly the moment he steps in. Gokudera's been made aware of the power of his pheromones, but hasn't found any way to keep the scent from coming off him. It should be something similar to the musk of a campfire, and vanilla, warm and rich and spicy. He glances back at the door as he steps in and it is closed behind him.
Turns out he's going to be super attentive of doors now, after this whole paw-fiasco.]
Coffee... and a splash of cream.
no subject
[Heavens, but he does smell good. There's a little incline of his head, a sort of half-bow of his own. Not commenting on the feet - but the token effort is appreciated]
I'll prepare it. There's some crockery set out there - try holding them and let me know which is easier? If not we may need to rethink...
[though Linneus has laid out a few mugs (somehow, he has ended up with mugs) and bowls ranging from Japanese tea-cup to cereal-bowl size. Hopefully - hopefully - one of them will work?
One of the nicer things about this 'apartment' is that the kitchen and sitting area are all one space - he doesn't like to shout across the room, but he hardly needs to as he brings out the cafetiere and finds it a place on the tray, with the tea-things.]
Do you like it quite strong?
no subject
[It's easy enough to fuck up holding a dish at home, but this is someone else's stuff he could potentially drop and break! To say he's nervous is an understatement. Still, Gokudera moves to take a seat, picking up his tail and holding it with his mouth while he reaches to take a mug. It's hard to grab onto, but if he puts his paw-palms on either side, he can hold. They feel a little more tough than his finger pads, so don't grip as well as he'd like.
If it were full of hot liquid, he'd probably not be able to maintain a grip. So, he set it down and tries to pick up a cereal bowl. Gokudera turns his wrists and slides his paws forward to pick it up, and does so easily. It's in tipping it up and towards himself that proves to be the struggle. His claws come out and do not help at all, just scraping as he sets it down and frowns.]
Usually...
[Next up is the Japanese tea cup, which he has an easier time with. Probably because he can hold it like the bowl, but it is smaller, so doesn't tip over. The claws still come out when he spreads what would normally be his fingers, and a few dip over the rim, but hold while he tips it.]
no subject
[another of those nods - this time, though, it's to hid his smile at the sight of the boy with his tail in his mouth. Linneus hope he keeps his floors quite clean, but he won't make assumptions as to Gokudera's reasons.]
Well, then I hope I can make it to your liking...! But if your tastes are changed you must tell me!
[He'll make it like he would for Xanthe, then. There will be sugar on the tray for his tea - ah , he should make sure he fills a little jug with cream, too - he leaves the coffee beans swirling in the cafetiere while he retrieves it, and then sets to filling the teapot, lining up the tray...
Mmm. He would usually arrange biscuits for one to take as they pleased. Perhaps individual selections will be a little easier?]
Have you found anything that fits? [as he settles the tray down, kneeling for a moment] I think they are all thick enough that they shouldn't grow too hot to hold, but there are napkins there. They might make the grip harder, though.
no subject
As for his tail in his mouth, it's becoming a habit that brings him comfort. He tends to do it without thinking, and it's so soft, why not? It is long enough to trail the floor, but he doesn't let it drag about so much behind him. Usually it looks to, but where it would, he lifts it.]
I like more cream than normal... [That is his attempt to tell him that his tastes have changed, but he's still fairly uncertain.]
I didn't think about them being hot. [Gokudera frowns, but holds out the Japanese tea cup with a small lift to his brow. This one!]
no subject
Mmm - I'll put aside the others, then.
[and then he can deal with the coffee.]
I am... very much going against all of my instincts... [as he only partly fills the cup, adds a little of the cream] But please know I would still rather they shatter than you end up with hot coffee all over you - that would be awful. I know first moons are generally difficult enough in the first place...
no subject
Instincts? In regards to table manners? [Gokudera asks as he watches, staring at the cream. Why does he just want cream? That's not right... he really likes coffee. Should he just say he changed his mind? No... that's not right.]
It's my first triple moon. I didn't have the paws during Cordis...
no subject
[plates will be hard to hold, biscuits hard to pick up. He might have to think of something else in the future. A gentle smile, though, as he sets down the cup for Gokudera.]
My moon sometimes gives a... nervousness that gets the better of me, from time to time. I hadn't anticipated it the first few times I was outside - I'm not used to wandering alone in the first place - and I found myself bolting from loud noises to shelter myself. It is... easier for me in my own home
[and it's easier to speak as he pours his own tea. He would wish to wait for Gokudera's approval, but he's not sure the boy would like to be stared at, so it serves as a decent enough distraction as well.]
no subject
[He stares at the cup, obviously worried about holding it poorly and or dropping it on himself. Gokudera reaches past it and turns his wrist, then brings it closer carefully, dragging it over the tabletop. Then, to make this seem more comfortable, decides he will follow on this topic while he struggles.]
You live alone? [He brings the cup up, but more so brings his face to it rather than bringing it to himself, one paw slides under it, and the other pushes its edge so he can tip the liquid into his mouth. Straws would be great, but not with something so hot.
And it tastes fine. Not like cream, but there's enough in it.]
no subject
[a little nod, setting down the pot and reaching to add sugar]
The homes here - these apartments - they are largely for two or more, when one first arrives. But not many of those I have known have stayed an extended period of time. Those who have... they have their own friends from home. I would not intrude on that...
[sitting back on his heels a moment]
So I managed to find myself somewhere. I was raised in a large house, so it's strange to not always have someone I may talk to. But I'm proud to have a home of my own - it's not something I've had before.
...is it all right?
no subject
[Gokudera hums his agreement, but he's trying to focus on drinking without spilling.]
no subject
[a little gesture to his surroundings before he settles into a chair himself]
...it is easier to be at home. It's simple and small but it is better than being startled out in public and taking off before my wits can catch up to me!
[...he may give the impression that this has happened at least once before, though it is likely quite at odds with what Gokudera has seen of Linneus thus far.
Rewording his question from earlier-]
Is the coffee all right?
no subject
[Gokudera thinks everything would be overwhelming, but his moon does little more than make him feel sluggish. He's already a jerk, so the mischievousness doesn't seem out of place or like a change.]
I'd be around people, but I don't like to anyways. My moon makes me into a couch potato... [He's still struggling to sip at his coffee. Gokudera worries if he sets it down he will not be able to pick it up again.]
If it weren't, I'd have said so.
no subject
[he nods with the acknowledgement that the coffee is acceptable - he can be 'off-duty' for a moment, then, sliding his feet from his slippers and bringing them up to one side as he settles with his cup]
I confess, I tend to struggle with surprises in the first place, but the moons make me quite headless about it. I promise I've decent enough sense not to make an absolute exhibition of myself otherwise...!
You said 'couch potato'? I know the words, but I don't know this term...
no subject
[What does he even mean 'make an absolute exhibition of myself'?
Gokudera nods.]
Basically I lounge about all day and I get very needy. Indulgent? I feel lazy.
