That's true. There's no reason not to at least test it. If you can maintain enough Chroma to live comfortably despite all that lost time then it may be a suitable solution for you.

That puts a bit of a wrench in the whole idea.

If you can spend a solid day or so with someone you might be able to stockpile enough to make up the difference.

Ultimately you can't know until you try it. This is all conjecture when we don't even have actual numbers to be working with.

I spent half a day with someone, and I don't use Chroma for much aside from living expenses.
