[Lunatia's resident centaur lady is back on screen, and this time she's sharing the spotlight with... a table full of fresh vegetables? Still a bit dirty, fresh from the soil, good ol' vegetables... That Konoha bows over to start out.]
Hello, everyone! My name is Konoha... I'm a jinba, or a "centaur" if you want... I'm from Echigo in Japan, but lots of people say I'm from the past...
[She's just going to do the same introduction every time, counting off details on her fingers to make sure she gets all the good points... there's too many people on this thing and she doesn't check it enough to keep track... oops. Anyway-]
I wanted to ask people some questions about food! My husband and I have set up a little farmstead, but the crops are growing, um, way faster than they really ought to be... [we're just going to speed past the blush] and it's not like we actually have to work for money here, so I was thinking of not just taking the crops to market but... serving meals at the house? Or sending them to people elsewhere in the city? I don't know, but I've met a lot of people here who said they just eat food from the stores, and I know those are really convenient, but it can't be better than a home cooked meal, can it?

[Look at this big turnip! Isn't it healthy looking?! Don't you just want to eat it?? Konoha smiles, making the root vegetable dance around the screen.]
So... can I ask you some questions about what sort of food you like? Or what kind of things you miss from your home? Maybe what they make in your country with vegetables? If you give me some of your time, I'll send you some fresh ones as a "thank you"-
Promise!
[One last bow... and she and the turnip sign off.]

I could honestly just go for a nice, fresh stir fry. Lots of garlic!
Meat optional, but beef or seared pork if I had the choice.
I'd pay for some fresher vegetables, by the way. :)

I'm definitely willing to answer questions about food, so... I guess an easy default is roasted veggies and rice, for me. If we're being really specific to country-of-origin, though... Taro is king for sure!

[Konoha beams and rolls the turnip about in her hands to keep giving it the video spotlight it deserves... even if she isn't positive she knows what "rad" means. Good, she thinks!]
Do you know Japanese food? Is there anything about that you don't like?

That is one hell of a turnip. There's a lot I could cook with that.
[He's almost drooling.]
But as for vegetables from my home country, they it's a lot of potato, corn, carrots, onions but as for the ones I personally love it'd be tomatoes, daikon, shiso, lotus root, and bamboo shoots from Japan. My second home.

[Mmmmmm... She's making herself hungry...]
Japan is your second home? Is your first one across the sea?

I think we're both familiar with a lot of Japanese cuisine, but roasted or caramelized vegetables are good for this time of year! Though my favorite is bitter melon stir fry.

[She goes diving into her harvest table and comes back with... a slightly bigger turnip!]
Is bitter melon the wrinkly one from the south? I don't have much experience cooking that one... You're such an adult, Ryuunosuke!

Not a bad idea. There's probably plenty of guys like me who aren't so great at cooking for themselves.

Hello!
It is good to meet you ( ◠‿◠ )
That turnip looks very delicious
I never thought I'd see centaurs here
You're from Echigo?
I knew some from there.
I was told my home sounded like it was called Japan too!

[She realizes a lot of that might be difficult to farm, though, so]
Other than that? Stir fry with green beans and eggplant is really good in my opinion, especially if you get a lot of garlic in.

[What a weird but exciting idea???]
I love eggplant- and we have some!
[Her shining star turnip is replaced with two eggplants, one in each hand that she cheerfully presents for review.]
Do you like pickled eggplant? My mother taught me a good trick for them, so I’m pretty sure mine are good too!

[Since Ren first arrived, really.]
I'm not picky when it comes to food, but I think my favorite is tempura lotus root. Really, just tempura in general is very good in my opinion.
no subject
It has been! Are you settled in well now?
[Oh she’s making herself so hungry she should have eaten before doing this post...]
I love lotus root! And tempura is such a fancy way to do it... What do you think about lotus root and pork in miso?

[ It's a shame he's unable to see it, but he imagines the fast growth is due to very much tender love and care.
No further comment on that assessment.
Of course the best test of their quality lies in how they taste, and even though Noct despises vegetables... he did say he was going to make Ignis eat plenty of them. Might as well supply them to the apartment if that's the case. ]
If I may, I'd love to have a regular delivery of your crops. In fact, I was wondering if I could offer a suggestion for another location within the city that would benefit from your farm.

[Thanks, honeymoon phase... and “trying to get pregnant despite science apparently saying no” phase...]

[ Ophilia applauds her and her husband’s efforts with an ear-to-ear grin. Good on you, not-so-little turnip! ]
I hail from a province where it snows year-round, so stews and such are always popular. I always make sure our visitors try our vegetable soup!
But what of your home? What do they enjoy most there?
no subject
Thank you!
[Only then does she poke into frame back from behind the vegetable, smiling curiously.]
It snows the whole year? That sounds really difficult to work in... you must be so far north!
[Like... Ezo? No, even Ezo has a spring time...]
For my village I guess it would be... beef and taro root hot pot! If I had to pick just one. My mother’s recipe is the best, but other people’s is good, too!

[ Something about Shinobu’s smile suggests she’s already been told about one Konoha from Echigo, but she’s otherwise good at feigning surprise. ]
In any case, I know someone who likes simmered salmon with daikon radish. I’d ask for some produce on his behalf, but I’d say he’s given you plenty of grief already.
[ Sitting seiza behind her is the man in question. If he’s listening to anything that’s being said, nothing about his expression shows it. Would it kill him to be polite in somebody else’s (virtual) company for once? ]

I have to ask, though: Do you grow any manner of herbs? I do love tea.

We grow fruit and herbs, too! Not as much, but we have a little... right now just persimmons, though, for fruit. And when it comes to herbs, let's see... trefoil, green onion, perilla... and ginger! Do you like those?

Considering his own perpetually low chroma levels, this particular Shen Qingqiu has been living mostly on instant meals and things since he arrived—and while he's used enough to bland foods and simple meals, he can't help being particularly attracted to those fresh vegetables on the screen.]
Wouldn't it be rather a big task, to offer meals to everyone like this? Even if not everyone accepts, the work would still be time-consuming.
no subject
She talked to Master Shen about what to do about the other Master Shen... But what is she supposed to do when... she doesn't know which one is on the screen...]
Oh, no, not... to everyone... I was just thinking... I could make extra when I cook for my family, and have that here at the house for people who stop by... or make just enough for people who want deliveries...

Ah, that is an absolutely wonderful idea. I like vegetable and seafood dishes, especially if they've got a bit of spice to them. There's nothing as of yet I can't get here that I miss from home outside of certain varieties of wild game, but I have been enjoying trying things that are unfamiliar to me enough that it's not bothering me all that much.
no subject
[her turnips bring all the healthy eating boys to the yard!!]
My village was a bit too far away from the ocean for fresh seafood, so I don't know much about cooking with much but salted mackerel... but, oh, you like game? What about boar? I love boar hotpot... and sometimes I can find it in the market from outside the city!
